Dreamweaver King of The Lake Tournament Series 2025
The Dreamweaver King of The Lake is a premier salmon fishing tournament series on Lake Ontario, featuring three highly competitive events
So, why not crown the ultimate King of the Lake? By bringing together a series of tough competitions, we challenge the best teams and recognize the top-performing group of the season.
But why create a series? Why connect these already successful big-lake tournaments? The answer is simple: competition fuels passion. Every year, as I speak with tournament committees, teams, and anglers, one thing is clear—we love to compete.
In the world of freshwater big game fishing, this is our Major League. We provide a stage for elite anglers to showcase their skills, push their limits, and rise to the top. Since the tournament’s inception 25 years ago—when local legend Larry Schroeder claimed the first title—we’ve seen an undeniable demand for this level of competition.
Now, it’s your turn to make history. Who will be crowned King of the Lake this year?
–St. Catharines – April 25-27
–Multi-Port Shootout – June 28
-Cobourg – August 15-16

Spring King of the Lake St Catharines, Ontario

2025 Spring Event – Year of the Big Blow
Fishing on Big Fish Friday was off the charts, with an incredible morning bite across the entire lake. As Saturday morning—gameday—approached, anticipation was high. This event brings together an elite field, the best teams competing in the biggest tournament of the season.
When the shotgun start sounded, the action was nonstop. From start to finish, fish were going over the rails as teams battled it out on the water. The Day One weigh-in was incredibly close, setting the stage for an intense final day with everything still on the line.
But Day Two brought a twist: a weather delay. Once the field was finally released, most teams ran to the areas where they expected the fish to be. There was just one problem—the fish had moved… east.
How far east?
When we asked Team Reel Therapy Captain Dave Morrison, his answer said it all: “Way, way east.”
That key adjustment made the difference. Team Reel Therapy anticipated the shift perfectly and edged out Team Icebreaker and Team Vision Quest to take the win.
Congratulations to Team Reel Therapy on a well-earned victory!

Newcastle Dreamweaver King of the Lake
August 15-16
The City of Newcastle is one of the best venues that we have been to host an event like this. This beautiful marina is nested in the downtown core with restaurants, bars and a campground next door. On top of this, we have put our event on the same weekend as the well know and attended Rotary clubs RIBFEST.
2025 Cobourg Event – Summer Tournament Recap
Our 2025 Cobourg Summer Event went off without a hitch, featuring solid catches and great competition throughout the field. This tournament is known for its unique challenge—king salmon spread throughout the entire water column, from as shallow as 60 feet down to 400 feet, making boat setup and presentation absolutely critical for success.
Teams worked hard to dial in the right depth and patterns, and as always, the competition was tight right to the finish.
At the end of the event, Team Red Lund, led by Captain Eric Fournier went offshore for his box, managed to edge out Team Loonatics and Gett It Wet #7 in a close and exciting finish.
Looking ahead, the 2026 Summer Event will be moving to Newcastle. With 40 teams already sold out, this high-level competition is shaping up to be one of our biggest and most exciting tournaments yet.
We’re incredibly excited and look forward to putting on our best show ever!

Overall Team of the Year

In our opinion this is the ultimate prize on the lake. The longer the competition, the more fish per day weighted in and the more events that participate without throwing out bad scores allow the best team to rise to the top. I hear “I should have entered”. Its definitely easy to say that at the end when participating without pressure.
